Miranda July Called Before Congress to Explain Exactly What Her Whole Thing Is

“Perhaps we’re approaching this in the wrong way; Ms. July, when I wake up in the morning, I say to myself, ‘I’m going to go to work and help make the laws that keep our country running,’” McConnell said. “Now, when you wake up in the morning, what do you say to yourself? July, however, mostly ignored the probings and proceeded to cut up pieces of construction paper to make a large banner reading “You Will Find It!” which she then hung from the front of the table at which she was sitting.

Miranda July is Pregnant!

The news is out: Miranda July is pregnant and has a child on the way.

At July’s City Arts & Lectures appearance last night at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco, the subject of the writer, actor and director’s treatment of children in her work was raised. (Children play a considerable role in her 2005 film Me, You, and Everyone We Know.)

At that point she took the opportunity to let the audience know that she was expecting a child herself.
